I have so much to be thankful for. I’ve got a berry bursting baked oatmeal in the oven, ready to greet my family as they wake the day. We’re all loading up in a borrowed van to make the trek to spend the day with Pennsylvania family. All together. Hmmm. I’ll have to think of some corny games to play during the 2.5 hour car ride. (It’s important that we Mommies give our children the opportunity for eye-rolling exercises whenever we’re together – no matter how old they are. That’s what we do.)
I am also excited because God has opened the door for me to be a contributing faith writer for our local newspaper, The Courier News – Home Tribune, and online at mycentraljersey.com. They have picked up my article about our good friend, Tatyana, and it is being printed today! Exciting for me as a writer, but moreso, I am thrilled that potentially hundreds more will read about God’s faithful love today.
As I walked through the grocery store yesterday (along with every other person born of a woman), I was glancing at people’s shopping carts. There was a noticeable difference between those who were buying for a family feast and those who were eating alone. It’s those, especially, that I pray will open their newspaper today – in the quietness – and be reminded they are not alone. There is a God who loves them desperately.

I pray you have a lovely day, with a long list of things for which to be thankful. Happy Thanksgiving!
