{Be Still} is a weekly reflection on the Bible from a personal, Christian perspective. This is a brief, reflective walk through God’s Word, which is a nice change from the often fast pace and superficiality of our culture. Come, stroll with me. Keep your eyes, ears and heart open to what we might find together.

{Around the House} offers tips to make home management (and life) easier and, hopefully, less stressful and more purposeful. These are ideas and lessons I’ve learned throughout my 25+ years of being a wife, mother and DIY addict while dealing with my slight, and sometimes annoying, perfectionism. I know my home and life will never be perfect in this lifetime, but we all can take small steps toward making life better on Planet Earth.

{In the Garden} is where we dig deep and grow big! One of my favorite places to be, there is so much to enjoy outside in the fresh air. Here, we’ll explore the wonders of nature and discover fun ways to get our hands dirty while creating beautiful spaces. We’ll even learn some ways to bring the outdoors in, so we can enjoy that fresh air feel even when we’re stuck inside.

{Off the Shelf} is a book- and music-lover’s paradise. There is so much to learn, ideas to explore, and imaginations to stimulate in the world of books and music! Is there anything else that can stir our hearts so profoundly as a masterful blend of instruments or compelling vocals? Here, I’ll review some of my favorites through the years for your consideration. My own Top 100 (or more)!

{Around the World} – one of the best things we did for our children was to expose them to other lands and cultures at a young age. Collectively, they have now experienced about half of the United States, India, Liberia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, England, France, Norway, Greece, Turkey and Bermuda. And, the majority of their time out of the country has been in service to the poor. Talk about a shift in perspective. Most people don’t have the opportunity to travel as we have been able, so here, I bring you the world! And, may it change you (for the better) as it has us.

{Essential Oils} posts will be my opportunity to share with you specific uses and tips to keep your body and home healthy! There is so much information out there, it deserved its own category. You’ll also find an Essential Oils tab at the top of the page, if you’d like to shop for your own EOs and supplies.

In regard to Essential Oil information offered on Honey Bees & Daisies: Although I believe Young Living oils and products are some of the best on the market today, remember I didn’t write the catalog descriptions. The descriptions written in the catalog do not necessarily reflect my personal beliefs. And the FDA requires me to write, “These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult individual product labels for safety information.”

I launched this blog because I have always loved to write, and my Daddy told me many times that I should. Now I am. This blog is my outlet for writing whatever is on my heart to share and I consider it an honor that people actually would care to read it.

I also created this blog as a potential source of supplemental income for my family. I’ve essentially been out of the professional workforce since my first baby was born. (It was a decision I will never regret, but also one that has strained our budget for 20+ years.) If the books or supplies I recommend have a link attached, they may be Affiliated Links – but not all will be. Affiliate Links mean, at no additional cost to you, I may get a commission if you make a purchase. I don’t write sponsored posts (get paid to write something nice).

I am a Young Living essential oil Independent Distributor and have an entire Essential Oils page dedicated to that topic.

And, I do hope to sell small blocks of advertising on my Pages to promote reputable companies. But, I won’t sell out my readers. I commit to ethical and considerate affiliations. Please do hold me accountable to this.

Most importantly, a minimum of 10% of any income from HB&D will be donated to life-changing organizations like: Urban Impact, Po River Medical Clinic and LoveTrue.
